TOTS & BOTS
Top Of The Stairs and Bottom Of The Stairs, locally recognized as TOTS and BOTS, has been a cornerstone in downtown Blacksburg for over 40 years. Located on the corner of Virginia Tech's campus, TOTS and BOTS has become a collegiate tradition for students – and the home to many amazing memories for their alumni. On the weekends you can find the fun while sipping on the traditional “Rail” at the top of the stairs – or if you’re in the mood for a more relaxed, mid-day treat, the bottom of the stairs is the place to be! In celebration of this hometown favorite, we were presented the opportunity to refresh the businesses websites and use marketing efforts to further connect with the community.
Web Design
TOTS and BOTS is where friends come to eat, play and make memories – so we knew that this would be best captured through an on-site photoshoot. During this photoshoot we were able to translate their nostalgic environment into imagery, which we then incorporated into each of their websites. While both businesses are located on the same property, they are two separate brands within themselves, so it was important to identify the two in their own light. To do this, we took an artistic approach in developing supplemental branding that helped each site stand out in its own way. Ensuring each website was fun, user friendly and offered online ordering was a must. As a result, each website successfully launched with a refreshed look that excited locals and brought the tradition home.
Marketing
The TOTS and BOTS brand is well recognized amongst the community, but even with well-known brands comes opportunity for extending digital reach. Through the use of the personal photos captured on-site and graphics curated by our team, we were able to amplify their social media presence and connect with the community in an authentic way. In tandem with social media marketing came the opportunity for email marketing, which we have used to extend their voice and raise awareness around weekly specials, events and promotions.
