Triumph
Triumph NIL is a unique sports marketing agency based out of Blacksburg, Virginia, that specializes in building custom ‘Name, Image, Likeness’ (NIL) partnerships for student-athletes. Team Triumph works to collaborate with businesses and charitable organizations to provide meaningful experiences through personalized activations led by signed Triumph Athletes. Joba Studio had the pleasure of partnering with Triumph NIL during inception, allowing us the opportunity to create their brand identity, logo, website and custom apparel. In addition to the design and development of their digital and physical assets, we also included a comprehensive marketing strategy, including social media management, event planning, third party partnerships and more.
Branding
Our first step in curating the Triumph NIL brand was to conceptualize their mission, values and audience. We wanted to create a logo that spoke to who they were as a sports marketing agency, and offered excitement and intrigue to their target personalities. As a result, the logo includes a curvature of the T’s crossbar, which accent the lines found in college basketball and football. The stem of the “T” is angled to imply that the logomark is moving forward, and creates a geometric #1 for victory and success. Color can add a lot of emotion and intrigue to a logo, but oftentimes in print production business owners prefer printing in black-and-white. Because of this, a logo must withstand the reduction of color while maintaining its form and interest. For this reason, we chose to keep the logo primarily black, offering a tone of strength, confidence and resilience. To ensure the logo could be used in a variety of applications, we created a logomark and wordmark which can be used strategically across all digital and print media.
Web Design
When it came to designing the Triumph NIL website, we wanted to create a space where student athletes, parents, donors and fans could get excited and engage with the organization. To drive the brand home and showcase their authority and authenticity in the NIL space, we leveraged images of Triumph Athletes to create custom, on-brand graphics throughout the site itself. It was also important that the website was user friendly, and offered resources for members of the community to get involved and learn more about Triumph NIL’s momentum in athletics. As a result, the website serves as a space where you can access information on individual athletes, read the latest press releases, donate, purchase custom memorabilia and shop for fan apparel.
Marketing
Following the design and development of the Triumph NIL brand, we segmented into a comprehensive marketing strategy with a goal to attract and attain student athletes interested in Virginia Tech Athletics. Similar to the website, their social feed is packed with custom graphics, athlete highlights and personalized videography captured on-site. To support our social media marketing efforts, we also assist in aligning Triumph NIL with local media opportunities, nonprofits and business partnerships to amplify more meaningful experiences for the greater good of all.
Product Design
Curating custom apparel was a key factor in leveraging the Triumph NIL brand and building excitement around their athletes. Through the online merch shop found on their website, individuals can purchase one of a kind fangear, including shirts, hats, posters and more.
